TLA Student Selected to Represent England in the ITFU European Championships

Dean began learning martial arts in 2017 aged 10 with Matt Fiddes martial arts and competed in his first tournament in 2018.  In MF tournaments he became regional, English and International champion and gained his second Dan Black belt this year.

Dean joined his local HTKD taekwondo class in Colnbrook in 2020 coached by his teacher Mr White.  Even through lockdown, he continued his lessons online. After lockdown, tournaments recommenced and Dean became ITF English Open Champion .

In 2023 Dean decided to push himself further by attending national squad training sessions in Birmingham coached by Master Lee Hollingsworth and competed in many qualifying tournaments in the hopes of being selected for the England squad.

This Summer is was announced that Dean HAS been selected as just one of 20 students from team Hollingsworth Taekwondo to represent England at the ITFU Open European Championships taking place in Madrid in October 2023. Only 42 athletes from across the country make up the ITFU England squad.

Being chosen for the ITFU England team is an amazing achievement and Dean is training harder than ever to be on top form.
