TLHP Year 1: How can we care for our waters?
Back
This term, Year 1 has been exploring the big question, ‘How can we take care of our waters?’ We have been learning about the importance of recycling and how plastic and rubbish can harm water habitats. Through our class books, ‘The Storm Whale’ and ‘Lost and Found,’ we discovered different animals and what they need to survive.
Museum learning provide us with plenty of objects for us to use, from life jackets to fish taxidermy and many different types of shells.
We were lucky to visit The River and Rowing Museum in Henley, where we learned about different animal groups and their survival needs. We also took a walk along the riverbank, carefully observing the surrounding wildlife. This helped us to think about how we can protect these habitats.
To showcase our learning, we have been preparing our High stakes project. This has now been moved to the middle of next term, and parents will receive invitations after the half-term break. Next term, we will begin an exciting new topic all about plants and what they need to grow and thrive.
