The annual TVLP Student Leadership Conference, facilitated by the Together As One charity, took place on 3 October at St Mary’s Ascot School. Aimed at developing leadership and team-building skills, the event was attended by ten Year 13 students from The Langley Academy, including our student leadership team. They participated in workshops alongside students from eleven other schools including Eton College. The day began with an inspiring keynote speech by TV presenter and actress Sunita Shroff, highlighting the importance of strong and compassionate leadership.

In the afternoon, students prepared for a Dragons’ Den-style competition where they pitched fundraising ideas to a panel of six experts. Out of 15 pitches from 116 students, Milan from TLA was part of one of the two winning teams. His team’s project raised funds for the Elizabeth Fry Charity, supporting women leaving prison, and Save Scheme, which helps victims of knife crime and domestic abuse.

All students received certificates for their participation, and a special highlight was seeing Hurairah, a former TLA student, return as a conference facilitator for Together As One. Congratulations to all involved!
