TLA Badminton Teams
BackEight talented students from TLA showcased their badminton prowess at the recent tournament hosted by Hershel Grammar School. Divided into two teams of four, one representing Year 9 and the other Year 11, the athletes engaged in a thrilling display of skill and determination.
The competition format demanded each team to face off against their counterparts from other schools, engaging in a total of five matches. These matches comprised two singles and three doubles games, providing ample opportunity for The Langley Academy players to demonstrate their abilities.
Undeterred by the formidable opposition and fuelled by their passion for the sport, the Langley boys exhibited remarkable resilience and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Their performances were characterised by impressive plays and strategic manoeuvres, earning them admiration from spectators and opponents alike.
The Year 9 team showcased exceptional talent, progressing to the final and securing a well-deserved silver medal. Meanwhile, the Year 11 squad demonstrated their prowess by clinching the third position, earning a prestigious bronze medal for their outstanding efforts.
Reflecting on their achievements, team captain Harry remarked, "We battled hard and played amazingly well. Though we fell short this time, we're motivated to work even harder for the next tournament. With dedication and practice, we aim to secure victory in the future."
